When Patricia Touma’s four children were growing up, instead of reading to them before bed, she made up stories about the adventures of siblings named Ish and Mish and their dog Jaime. She’s recently published these stories in a series of children’s books. And she’s also released an album called Happy Times, from which she’s sharing three songs with us: Riding On The Bus, The Merry-Go-Round and The Frost Is On The Pumpkin.

The Luv Clowns from Memphis bill themselves as creating “riotous musical absurdities for children and the grown-ups who serve them”. From their album Love Clowns!, they are sharing: K-I-D-S

These songs are available for free download right now at FreeKidsMusic.com

After a huge day of posting new music yesterday, we’ve followed up with some great new additions this morning as well:

Cat and a Bird is a musical project of Vasiliy Taranov, who brings to the genre a blend of Russian folk, American rock and jazz music…and Emily Chimiak, a French/American artist, singer and violinist whose charming voice and beautiful artwork brings the animal characters and their adventures to life. For a limited time, they are sharing the title song from their new album Cat and a Bird.

Gogo Bonkers! is a Canadian duo who bring a mega-dose of energy and creativity to their passion for promoting environmental sustainability. They are sharing two songs: Big Cloud and Walking In The Forest.

Despite its sparse production, we really enjoyed the song by Shelley called Cowboys, Cowgirls. Double bonus for the imagery of kids walking into a saloon and order, “Double milk – no ice, thank you”. Yee-haw!

Alan W. Lemke is a Colorado-based singer/songwriter, and he’s asking the kind of music question you’re likely to hear almost every day on any street corner: Have You Ever Seen An Alligator Surfin’?

All these songs are available for free listening and downloading right now at FreeKidsMusic.com

A couple months ago, we tried to create a protected environment over at FreeKidsMusic.com that we felt would work a little better for everyone. Unfortunately, we ran into some technical issues that prevented this from happening. So while thousands of people had signed up for the new system, we had to switch the registration system off. Our apologies for the hassle and complications. As of today, the cleanup has been completed and the system is fully back online. No registration required. The songs are completely, freely downloadable by everyone.

So feel free to head on over to the recently-redesigned FreeKidsMusic.com and grab some free MP3s for your young kids today!

Online coloring sites can help stimulate their creativity, because they know they’ll be rewarded both by results with almost every click, and by the encouragement of their siblings and parents as they change a simple line drawing into a full-color image. And if you’ve got a color printer…VOILA! Instant art gallery!
